Review : The Perfect Performance Ultrabook for Travel
I spent several months investigating various options for a new computer. Before I go further I have to state that I was not looking for a tablet or even a convertible when I considered the Yoga. I am a developer and need a fairly powerful workstation, and right now I feel the best solution is two devices: an extremely light, thin, portable solution for long flights and carrying around the house, and a more powerful workstation for doing my primary work which is development and authoring technical books.
I satisfied the "light and portable" option with an ASUS VivoTab RT. I have a review on my blog for that. The Lenovo I approached as an ultrabook with touch, and the tablet mode simply comes as a bonus.
With this purchase I was able to successfully replace an older Dell laptop that was almost 2" thick and weight 6 pounds. It had 8GB RAM and a "fast" hard drive and I run SQL Server 2012, multiple web servers, and Visual Studio 2012 in debug mode...
